Fitness Challenge
Privacy Policy
Effective as of October 20, 2026
The short version: Fitness Challenge does not require an account. Your workouts, challenges, history, and weight log are stored on your device, not on our servers. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. We use Firebase for analytics and crash reports and RevenueCat for Premium purchases, and you can optionally back up your data to your own Google Drive. We do not sell your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Home Workout Fitness Challenge Android app ("Fitness Challenge", "the app") collects, how it is used, and what choices you have. The app is developed and operated by despDev ("we", "us"). Questions or requests: despdevs@gmail.com.
Data you create in the app
Everything you enter in Fitness Challenge stays on your device: your workouts, history, challenges, weight log, reminders, gender, birth year, height, and settings. Reminders are scheduled on your device, home-screen widgets show your progress, and the voice instructor uses your phone's own text-to-speech engine.
Uninstalling the app or clearing its data in Android settings removes this data from your device. If Android's own device backup is turned on, Google may keep a copy of the app's data in your Google account according to your device settings and Google's terms, outside of our control. Deleting the app does not delete analytics, crash, advertising, or purchase records already held by the service providers described below.
Google Drive backup (optional)
If you choose to back up (a Premium feature), the app saves a copy of your workouts, history, challenges, weight log, reminders, and settings to your own Google Drive, in a hidden app folder that only Fitness Challenge can access. To connect, you pick a Google account and allow access in Google's permission screen. The app gets access only to its own backup folder, and we never receive your email address or your backup. The backup is kept in your Google account under Google's terms. You can delete it in Google Drive (Settings → Manage apps → Fitness Challenge → Delete hidden app data) and remove the app's access in your Google account settings.
You can also export your data to a backup file. The file is saved where you choose, and from then on it is under your control.
Data collected automatically
The app uses a small number of third-party services. They work with pseudonymous identifiers, such as an app-instance ID or your device's advertising ID, which are not linked to your name or email address.
- Advertising — Google AdMob: the free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them, and prevent fraud, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address and approximate location derived from it, device and operating-system information, app version, and how you interact with ads. With your consent, this data may also be used to personalize ads; without it, Google shows non-personalized ads that still use limited data for frequency capping, measurement, and fraud prevention.
- Analytics — Google Analytics for Firebase: collects app-interaction events (which screens are opened and which features are used), session information, app version, device and operating-system information, language, approximate location derived from your IP address, and pseudonymous identifiers. Analytics events do not include the content you enter in the app.
- Crash reporting — Firebase Crashlytics: collects crash and error reports with stack traces, timestamps, app state, app version, device and operating-system information, and pseudonymous installation identifiers. Crash reports do not include the content you enter in the app.
- Purchases — Google Play and RevenueCat: payments are processed entirely by Google Play through your Google account; we never see your payment card or bank details. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and keep track of what you have bought. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user identifier, Google Play purchase and transaction information, purchase status, and device and operating-system information.
Premium removes ads from the app. Analytics, crash reporting, and purchase validation continue to work as described above.
We do not sell your personal information.
Your advertising choices
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent through Google's consent form before ads use personal data. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time in the app's settings, using the ad privacy settings option, which opens the same consent form again.
On any Android device you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (usually Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads). After it is deleted, apps can no longer use it to personalize ads.
Privacy information of the third-party services used by the app:
- How Google uses information from apps that use its services
- Ad technology providers that may work with AdMob
- Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics)
- RevenueCat
- Google Privacy Policy
Why we use this data
We use the data described above only to provide the app's features, validate and restore purchases, show ads in the free version, fix crashes and bugs, and understand which features are used so we can improve the app. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on performance of our agreement with you for purchases and backups you request; your consent for personalized advertising; and our legitimate interest in keeping the app working, secure, and improving, for analytics, crash reports, and non-personalized ads that fund the free version. We share personal information with outside parties only with the service providers listed in this policy, to the extent needed for the app to work.
How long we keep information
Data you create stays on your device until you delete it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app; backups in your Google Drive stay there until you delete them. Google Analytics keeps user-level and event-level data for no longer than 14 months; aggregated statistics may be kept longer. Firebase Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days. Google keeps advertising data according to its own retention policies. RevenueCat keeps purchase information for as long as it is needed to validate and restore purchases, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to answer and document your request.
Security
Data stored in the app is protected by your device's own security, such as your screen lock and Android's built-in encryption. Data sent to our service providers travels over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and anything you attach. If you use the feedback option in the app, the email is pre-filled with the app version, Android version, and device model to help us solve the problem; you can remove them before sending. We use this information only to answer you and improve the app.
Your rights (GDPR — European Union / EEA / UK)
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you may have the right to request access to, correction or deletion of, or restriction of processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent at any time, and, where the legal requirements are met, to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in the country where you live or work, or where you believe an infringement occurred.
The content you create lives on your device, so you can view, change, or delete it directly in the app at any time. For data held by our service providers, contact us at the email below. Because the app has no accounts, your email address is not linked to the pseudonymous identifiers used by these services, so we may ask you for an identifier shown in the app to find the relevant records.
These providers may process data on servers outside the EU/EEA/UK. They rely on recognized transfer safeguards, such as the EU standard contractual clauses.
California privacy disclosures
We do not sell personal information for money. The ads in the free version are provided by Google AdMob, and the use of your advertising ID for personalized ads may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out by deleting or resetting your advertising ID in Android settings, or by buying Premium. California residents may also request access to or deletion of their personal information by contacting us at the email below.
Children's privacy
Fitness Challenge is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without the required parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian may contact us using the details below.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. Significant changes may also be mentioned in the app or in its Google Play release notes.
